Bobcats Season Over in Loss to Gilmer County

By James Cook:

Summers County finishes 8-3

The Summers County Bobcats fought hard , but fall versus Gilmer County Titans  34-20 on Saturday night at Glenville State College in the opening round of the 2016 Class A Playoffs. Gilmer County returned a 75 yard interception for a touchdown in the second quarter, but even then the Bobcats didn’t throw in the towel down 22-6.

Dillon Smith and Tucker Lilly each had touchdowns for the Bobcats, as Summers County got in a 16 point hole early on, but kept fighting on the night. Dacota Thomas also  scored for the Bobcats.

Overall a good year for the Bobcats and nothing to feel down about in 2016, not the way the Bobcats hoped to end the season, but still a very good year on the gridiron for Summers County.
