Lady Bobcats have Rough Evening in Richwood

The Lady Bobcats traveled to Nicholas County and fell to the Lady Lumberjacks of Richwood 8-0.

The Lady Bobcats only had two hits all game long, as Richwood pitching was too much on this evening. Tiffani Cline and Marcella Auguilar had the only hits for Summers County.

286fe-scRichwood scored a run in each of the game’s first two innings and didn’t look back, as they would later add six more runs to end any hope of a Summers County comeback.

Lady Bobcats Get By Oak Hill

Whittney Justice went 2 for 4 at the plate with help from a host of Lady Bobcats as they slip past Class AA Oak Hill 7-6 this week.scsoftball

Whittney was also the winning pitcher over the Lady Red Devils, as eight Lady Bobcats had one or more hits This was a good team effort for Summers County, as they continue to play well against Class AA competition.

Liberty Doubles Up Bobcats

The Summers County Bobcats fall 8-4 to the Liberty Raiders on Monday evening as Summers County goes to (6-6) overall on the season.

summerscountybobcatsWill Whittaker went 2 for 4 on the evening with three RBI’s versus the Raiders. The Raiders will be one of the toughest opponents the Bobcats will see all season long, so the 8-4 result, despite the loss, is a nice showing by Summers County.

This week looks to be excellent baseball and softball weather, so both the Bobcats and Lady Bobcats should be hitting the diamond all week long.

Bobcats Sweep Doubleheader

The Bobcats dominated Mount View on Saturday, sweeping a doubleheader from the Golden Knights.

The Bobcats get a complete game performance from Chase Adkins in a 9-1 victory, as Adkins’ strike out total hit double digits in very nice effort all around.

Summers County really brought out the big guns in a complete domination of the Golden Knights 24-4 in Game Two. C.J. Shrewsbury would blast two home runs in the lopsided win.scbaseball

Lady Bobcats Win Again

The Lady Bobcats handle nearby rival Meadow Bridge on Wednesday evening 8-3 in Fayette County.

Summers County scored all eight runs in the last two innings to secure the victory and run past the Lady Wildcats. Whittney Justice was 4-4 at the plate and sister Brittney Justice score three runs in the win. Miranda Billings had two RBI’s and was the game’s winning pitcher.scsoftball

The Lady Bobcats are in action with Valley for a doubleheader on Thursday, but mother nature will probably derail action for the next few days as rain and snow are in the forecast.

Bobcats Shutout Versus Fayetteville; Lady Bobcats Outlasts Lady Pirates

The Summers County Bobcats were shutout and out dueled versus the Fayetteville Pirates 10-0 on Tuesday evening.

Nathan Wykle had the only hit for the Bobcats as Fayetteville’s Jordan Dempsey allowed only one hit on the evening. The game itself only lasted five innings due to the score, or lack thereof by Summers County, due to a very impressive outing by Mr.Dempsey of Fayetteville.

The Lady Bobcats slipped by the Lady Pirates of Fayetteville Tuesday evening 12-10.

The Lady Bobcats led 4-1 after the first inning and went on from there to not disappoint the home crowd in Hinton.

Lady Bobcats Win One Lose One

The Lady Bobcats split two games over two days as they fell to Greenbrier West 13-5 despite Brittney Justice’s two hits and two runs batted in.scsoftball

Summers County quickly put this behind them and topped Montcalm on Thursday evening 13-8 as Brittney Justice was at it again going 4 for 5 from the plate and Brittany Myers was 4 for 4, and several other Lady Bobcats all contributed in the win over the Lady Generals.
